Giving proper credit to the season four opener of Justified, I will say that I certainly didn’t expect…whatever the hell that flashback scene was. What I loved about it was, for the first minute or so, you’d think it was just an innocent piece of a storyline’s puzzle for this year.

Jolly old Saint Nick isn’t as jolly as he used to be… and I mean Nick Sax, the gun-totting murderer and former detective, thanks to a flying and talking blue horse named Happy who needs him to save a child’s life. And with this issue you really start to care.
Built on a strong premise, this book’s story could go anywhere… and while it does slow down, bodies pile up in this killer issue! And yes, I know, the 90s’ called and they want their joke back… oh, just read and enjoy their Chaos character!
Stephanie Brown has seemed to be “toxic” to comic books since the New 52 started… much to my chagrin since I love the former Batgirl. Finally, after over a year of avoiding the issue, the co-publisher of DC Comics Dan Didio finally talks about Stephanie Brown, and other faces that have been missing from the New 52 like Donna Troy and Wally West. Peter Cannon’s origins are explored. Again. Then we get a flashback to Tibet, a trip to Japan and a mummy mystery and murder – all in all, way too much. And the artwork doesn’t help ether.
Z-Girl: Odyssey is one of those indie titles that stands out, and don’t even mean it in a joking way. The artwork is a breathe of fresh air after DC, but the story can be confusing and boring if you fail to get invested – however in the meantime Z-Girl will keep you awake with some quips.
This is not a tie-in to Rotworld. It is just a very, very similar story. At the same time. DC probably could have planned this one out a bit better. Will the next arc be about the return of Earth 2’s Joker?
The second episode of NBC’s Revolution, “Chained Heat,” was not at all like the pilot, and that was a good thing. By the time Nora – the lady who is very good at blowing things up – appeared, I had to check the episode’s writing credit, and I was surprised to find out the show’s creator Eric Kripke (who also penned the pilot) was credited. In “Chained Heat,” instead of trying to cram too many things in an hour with dubious approaches, he was more straightforward (and even candid at times) with his story and his characters. All things that made me wish the show had used this episode as the second leg of an extended premiere.
Hal, Kilowog, Aya and Razer arrive at the remains of a dead world. Aya detects a single surviving life form. Hal races off. Kilowog thinks it could be a trap. Aya realizes it is not a human life form. Hal ends up in the middle of a Red Lantern attack! Kilowog was right. He, Razer and Aya race to join Hal.
