Community – A Fist Full of Paintballs

It took all year but paintball finally returned to Greendale this week as Community’s
“A Fist Full of Paintballs” hit the airwaves. To say I was excited for
the beginning of the two-part season finale would be a dramatic
understatement given how phenomenal season one’s “Modern Warfare” was,
and much to my complete and utter lack of surprise, it absolutely
killed. Possibly not the best episode of the season as it has some
fierce competition, but an absolutely outstanding twenty minutes of
television nonetheless.

Intrepids #3 – Review

Tthe first issue of the Intrepids, was not a good first issue. It did not represented a good origin story to a first time audience. Yet, surprisingly enough the book sold well enough for Image to call it a hit. Issue two demonstrated a better representation of the characters and a more enthusiastic dramatic content. Although the book showed a better characterization and better chemistry between the characters and the artwork kept on being fresh and inventive. Is the third issue worth it?

Dracula: The Company of Monsters #9 – Review

Luckily, after reading a terrible seventh issue and a decent eighth issue Dracula: The Company of Monsters #9 hits many soft spots but still has quite a few rough patches that make me question why the series has been so acclaimed since the first issue. The battle between Conrad and Dracula finally begins here, with Evan playing the double-crosser of both Dracula and Conrad seeking help from the vampire-hunter Marta and her gang.

Summer Movie Preview 2011 Part 1

In case any of you, like some of us on the Player Affinity Movies staff, are still bummed about how disappointing last summer was, we finally grant you relief: Summer 2011 — absolute blockbuster mayhem. There are plenty of sequels, actions films, superhero films, comedies and more that almost every weekend will warrant a trip to the theaters.

gearing up and briniging the big guns to promote this day.  But
aparenlty nobody does it better than the comic book shops in
California.

Trailer Tracker: Immortals, The Ledge and more

This
week we have at least one FX driven epic with Immortals from the visionary Tarsem Singh about a clash between
titans and the gods … hmm … sounds familiar. Patrick Wilson and Liv Tyler lead the
semi-religious thriller The Ledge
about a man forced to jump from a building to save the woman he loves and next
hot commodity Anne Hathaway joins with Brit Jim Sturgess in the adaptation of
the bestselling book One Day. Wrapping
things up is the WWII action thriller Age
of Heroes led by the one and only Sean Bean and finally the teaser trailer
for Intruders breaks featuring a

New Assassin’s Creed Title Leaked?

Due to an apparently botched reveal on Ubisoft’s Facebook
page, details of the upcoming Assassin’s
Creed title may have been leaked.

According to a developing thread on the NeoGAF message board,
Ubisoft posted a Flash file containing the title “Assassin’s Creed: Revelations” and the name “Altair”, in Arabic script, on the official Assassin’s Creed Facebook page. What this may mean is that whether
you return as the protagonist of the original title, Altair, or as Ezio from Assassin’s Creed 2 and AC: Brotherhood, more of Altairs history
maybe revealed in the next game.

Last Character For First Templar

This week Kalypso Media released video detailing the third and final playable character in their upcoming cooperative hack ‘n’ slash game The First Templar.  The new character Marie d’Ibelin is one of two possible companions who’ll join the game’s protagonist Celian over the course of the story.  Players can switch between them for single-player adventures, but the game is designed to encourage multi-player coop.

New Orcs Must Die Video

A new video of the wacky, trap-based strategy game, Orcs Must Die has surfaced.  It’s part of a new weekly showcase in which the developer, Robot Entertainment, shows off the various traps that players will be able to use in the game.  This week, it is the Arrow Wall.  It’s a placeable wall that shoots out a floor-to-ceiling- volley of arrows that impales any hapless Orcs unfortunate enough to wander by.
