As if the largest opening of the franchise wasn’t enough, Paranormal Activity 3’s mammoth $54-million opening also shattered the record of another threequel (Jackass 3D) for the biggest October opening and biggest fall opening, not to mention it now lays claim to the largest horror movie opening — ever.

Respected character actors Bill Nighy and Stanley Tucci have been cast in X-Men and X2 director Bryan Singer’s fantasy flick Jack the Giant Killer.
Nighy will play half of the two-headed giant leader Fallon while Tucci will step into the role of the king’s adviser and main villain, Roderick. Here’s a synopsis of the film from TheWrap:
New DVDs and Blu-rays this week include Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Adam Sandler comedy Grown Ups, Lars Von Trier’s controversial film Antichrist, the original Ocean’s 11 Blu-ray and Superman/Shazam: The Return of Black Adam.
PC Gamers had an amazing week during the close of October as every online game store held some sort of Halloween sale that all had at least one phenomenal deal. Now, November is getting off to great start as well, with Steampowered.com offering not one, but TWO Mid-week Madness sales on two different franchises.
Remember how David Fincher is set to direct a 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea revamp for Disney? Well, Fincher and the Mouse House are not alone. According to THR’s Heat Vision Blog, 20th Century Fox has enlisted Ridley and Tony Scott as producers for a “Leagues” film with Travis Beacham (Clash of the Titans) to write the script. Although he’s not officially attached to the project, there have been talks to have director Timur Bekmambetov come on board. Bekmambetov is best known for his 2008 action flick Wanted.
