Welcome to Rumor Has It, Player Affinity’s weekly roundup of movie rumors circulating throughout Tinseltown. On this week’s docket, we have rumors about The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises and The Flash.
The Flash has so far been a surprising joy for me. I did not expect this series to be so great. It tells a great story for Flash and his supporting characters and always leaves us with a great ending for us to want to pick up the next issue.
In this issue The Flash is still trying to learn how to control his new powers. Manuel is trying to figure out a way to save his clones, but it may end up killing himself in the process. When something goes wrong with Manuel and his clones the Flash is going to have to save the day and pay the price.
WOOOOO! Barry Allen will be the Flash when the book relaunches in
September. This is great news. With Manapul and Buccellato working on
the book, I can’t wait for the relaunch.
It’s Friday and that means it’s time for DC to dump a ton of Flashpoint news and previews upon the world, but the biggest news is that Geoff Johns will be leaving the Flash series after Flashpoint #5. Johns has had an extensive run on Flash in the past and has brought Barry Allen back to the DC forefront in a big way, but it’s still surprising to see him leave right after the event. Unless a big name creator comes on board you can expect a sales slump almost instantly as history shows us (See Flash and Wonder Woman’s relaunch after Final Crisis).
With Flashpoint on it’s way DC has been dropping all sorts of goodies relating to their summer mini-series blockbuster event. As per the usual on their Source news page they posted a batch of Flashpoint Friday including this very detailed map of the world layout of Flashpoint! In a world where everything you know will change in a flash, it might help to have a map. Luckily for us, thanks to writer Rex Ogle and artist Freddie E. Williams II, readers now have just that: a map of the world of FLASHPOINT.
Dear fans of Wally West… I’m sorry. I’m sorry that Wally has a wife and two kids and was never as interesting as Barry Allen. I’m sorry that with one issue, Geoff Johns (Blackest Night and anything else good at DC) has made Flash a better character than the “Big Three” or that Wally could ever be. And for that,… well, I shouldn’t say I’m sorry if I don’t mean, should I?
The first page of this book sets the tone for the entire issue, “New York may be the city that never sleeps, but Central City is the city always on the run.” It’s almost silly to say that this book reads fast, but it does. Once the story starts, it never stops. It pushes the reader forward all the way to the last page. Barry Allen is returning to his job as a forensic scientist for the Central City Police Department, and his life as the Flash. He begins his day by taking out the new Trickster, who has decided to make traffic in the city worse than it usually is. He shows up late to work and is introduced to rest of the “Lab Rats”, and is sent to his first homicide case: Mirror Master.
The CW has set a date for the much-anticipated The Flash and Supergirl crossover musical event. The crossover will start at the end of the Supergirl episode airing March 20, but the bulk of the action will occur during the March 21 episode of The Flash, according to Variety. The episode of The Flash will […]
