Dark Horse’s Falling Skies Sells Out

With the highly anticipated launch of the TNT television show Falling Skies, the Falling Skies prequel graphic novel has completely sold out! Dark Horse Comics began working with TNT a little under a year ago, publishing a free webcomic prequel to the television series. In the heart of Boston, following the devastating events of an alien invasion, history professor Tom Mason and his sons meet up with the Second Mass, a militia group determined to wipe out the aliens. But with the militia’s supplies running low, Tom must locate an old friend to equip him and his team in order to ensure the survival of the human race.

As we draw near the last shipping week of comics, Publishers are preparing their releases for the next Previews magazine from Diamond. What that means for you is that you get to see them early! Up first is NBM’s releases and what I love about this company is that there’s always something different and new. It’s never the same thing twice and the range of genres is amazing.

Zenescope Has 1000 Ways For You to Die

Have you ever seen that show on Spike television called 1000 Ways to Die? It’s basically a show
where people die in all type of different dumbass ways. But it’s done in a very
goofy manner. Well, what would you give to have the master talent at Zenescope
bring that same outrages fun to you in graphic novel form? Nothing you say? Well
good because it’s happening anyway.

The two have teamed up to bring a 200-page graphic novel
based on the Spike TV series 1000 Ways to Die.  Keep a look out in the Fall when the book will
be hitting comic book shops everywhere, unless they don’t order it.

Good for Zenescope to nabs this property; let’s just hope it’s
not all the same skits from the show, just done in comic book form.

The Cape: Legacy Edition #1 – Review

Let’s clear the air on something right away. This book has nothing to do with the Cape TV show that was cancelled by NBC. Perhaps if NBC had made this comic into a show then they wouldn’t have cancelled it. Because of all that I think this was a much overlooked issue from IDW and creator Joe Hill, which is unfortunate because it’s probably one of the best comics I’ve read in my entire life. If you’ve ever tired reading comics or even thought about it, then pick this issue up. If it doesn’t make a comic reader out of you, then nothing will!

28 Days Later #24 – Review

28 Days Later # 24 hits the streets this week. Boy it sure would be great if the series ends with issue 28. You know… Like the title?  What? The series ends with issue 24? Oh man just when things were getting interesting. Maybe they do 28 Weeks Later or 28 Month Later as a sequel. But what am I talking about? I’m going to miss this series and if they do a sequel to this series they better bring this creative team back for more.

Rocketeer Adventures #2 – Review

We’re back with another set of short stories starring the Rocketeer and again it’s all top tier talent working on the book. Names like Mark Waid, Chris Weston, Darwyn Cooke, Lowell Francis and Gene Ha to name but a few. There is only one pin up by Geof Darrow and Dave Stewart, but the Alex Ross cover for issue three acts as a pretty good substitute. It depicts the Rocketeer standing with Beatty beside him, and she is a striking resemblance to Beatty Page the original inspiration for the character.
