Game of Thrones: Season 2 ‘Shadow’ Tease

In the northern hemisphere, our winter might soon be drawing to a close, but in the world of Westeros, the long winter is coming. The latest teaser of Game of Thrones’s second season reminded us of that highly anticipated fact with a peek at what will befall our heroes at the hands of “our” favorite (and less favorite) villains.

In just a week, the clip has now been watched by 4.8 million viewers, making it the most popular teaser of any HBO series on YouTube (if we exclude motion picture adaptations). Narrated by Lord Varys, it features Tyrion Lannister, portrayed by Golden Glodes and Emmy Awards winner Peter Dinklage, as well as fan-favorites Jon Snow and Arya Stark.

New Trailer For Game Of Thrones: The Game: Of Thrones

Coinciding with the Winter Solstice, Atlus and Cyanide Studios have released a trailer for the latest video game adaptation of George R. R. Martin’s A Song Of Fire And Ice book series, A Game Of Thrones the RPG.  This should not be confused with Cyanide’s other adaptation that came out earlier this year, AGame Of Thrones: Genesis, the strategy game.

New Game of Thrones Teaser

During last night’s season two finale of Boardwalk Empire, a new teaser for the upcoming second season of fantasy-drama Game of Thrones was aired. At 45 seconds in length, it stands at three times longer than the first teaser that we got a few months back, but still reveals little about the new season that finished filming recently. The teaser features a voiceover from Stannis Baratheon (played by Stephen Dillane) reinforcing the facts that the season finale left us with – that he is the rightful heir to the Iron Throne and war is most certainly coming to those that oppose him. Game of Thrones to Return in April 2012

Following the return of Boardwalk Empire, HBO has released a short teaser trailer for the second season of Game of Thrones. In addition, the cable giant has revealed via their Twitter feed that the show is set to return in April 2012. After its pick-up back in April 2011, it had been long since announced that the show would return at some point in the spring of 2012, but with the month now tied down, fans can mark their calendars.

As for the mini-trailer, it reveals nothing in the way of new footage from the ten episode run of the second season, but does provide something in the way of mystery that helped make the first season so successful. You can check out the trailer below.

News of Chris Hemsworth‘s return to the role of Thor following next year’s The Avengers also brought news that Thor director Kenneth Branagh would be leaving the blossoming franchise. Marvel Studios and Disney are now in the early stages of talking to Brian Kirk, director of assorted episodes for HBO’s Game of Thrones.

of Thrones
just keeps growing, and recently three new characters
were added to the roster. It is again a crop of lesser-known actors
filling the roles, but that does not necessarily mean the characters
they are portraying will have no impact on the series.

Playing the enigmatic caged prisoner of
the Night’s Watch, Jaqen H’ghar, is Tom Wlaschiha(Valkyrie).
The German actor’s character will be traveling with Arya Stark on her
journey out of King’s Landing. Jaqen is known for his seductive
charm; which is only outweighed by his lethality.
