Want Access to the Duke Nukem Forever Demo?

Well there might be a few of you left out there that still don’t believe that Duke Nukem Forever is actually coming out. Playable demos at PAX this year proved that there was at least some form of the game floating out there somewhere.

To add more credibility to an actual release, 2K announced today that each copy of Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition will come packaged with a Duke Nukem Forever first access membership certificate. The certificate gives gamers access to exclusive items as well as entrance into the Duke Nukem Forever demo. The demo w

Pachter Predicts Price Cuts in 2011

I love Michael Pachter. He’s entertaining, funny, and exactly what this business needs. On top of all that, he’s almost always correct with his predictions, no matter how crazy they can be. Mr. Pach Man’s latest predicition is a little less bold than some of his others but still an interesting one. I have never been a big comic fan. While I have always had an appreciation for all things nerdy, the whole comic genre was a place I never saw myself entering (Don’t tell the guys over at Player Affinity Comics). However, given the chance to experience the comic medium via Comic Jumper: The Adventures of Captain Smiley was hardly something I could allow myself to pass up.

Being in comics is a career and it’s up to them to find a way to get paid.

Bungie Bans 15,000 Halo: Reach Players

15,000 Halo: Reach users may have been very upset when they logged onto the popular game only to find out that their online accounts had been reset. They lost all their credits and, as a result, their rank dropping down to the lowly recruit.

Bungie made the move after discovering that these users were using a process of “intentional disconnect” that allowed them to complete challenges 20+ times. Bungie also applied a one day credit earning ban for the users to “ensure that recipients receive an in-game notification of the action taken.”

What Does Bungie Leave Behind?

With Halo: Reach, Bungie has ended its tenure of one of the most influential series in the video game industry. We are all familiar with the accolades by now – Halo was the Xbox’s killer app, the series that legitimized Microsoft’s stake in the console business, the herald of Xbox Live, and a multi-million dollar, platinum gajillion-seller franchise.

Origins: Castlevania

Welcome to Origins, a new player affinity feature where a writer will introduce or reacquaint our readers to the history, games, greatest hits and spectacular failures of a classic video game series.

With Castlevania: Lords of Shadow coming out next week, I figured we’d run through the 25 year history of Castlevania; from its platforming 8-bit origins, to its masterpieces and follies, laying down some knowledge about some of the more notable editions in the horror title’s history.
