BioShock Infinite – Preview

I have a shameful confession.  I loved BioShock 2.  I also adored the first BioShock, but many fans of the first game didn’t care for the sequel, which was developed by a separate studio.  Some people think of the upcoming BioShock Infinite as the “True Sequel.”  Despite my affinity for Rapture and both games set in it, I am still as excited as anyone about Irrational Games’ next BioShock, even if Rapture is being left far below.

A Quick Look at Mortal Kombat Legacy

If that little short film didn’t peek your interest for the upcoming web series based on a reimagining of the MK fiction, then maybe this will. The portrayed characters are confirmed as Jaxx and Kano, who have had somewhat of a documented rivalry in the game story. While the video doesn’t reveal a great deal about the series, it’s clear that any supernatural elements regarding the fighting are gone, which is a good thing as that can only really be pulled off well in the video games. With MK9 only a couple of weeks away from release and MK: Legacy debuting on the 12th of April, this month seems to be the month for MK fans. I for one am extremely excited about both of these — it’s been a long time since Mortal Kombat made an impact and hopefully the combination of these two should do the trick. Check out the clip below and mark your calendar!

New Thundercats Trailer!

Premiering at Wonder Con was the new trailer for Thundercats! Frankly I saw twenty seconds and was sold on it. By the end I completely loved the new direction they’re going with the story and the variety of ages they’ve chosen for the cats. I do hope that they figure out something to do with the twins since they were mishandled at best in the original series. The art style they’ve gone with is definitely the right choice with a bit of Dragon Ball Z influence meshed with the Cartoon Network color pallet. In general this actually looks like a good relaunch and not simply a cash in on an old franchise. What are your thoughts on the trailer?

The Dishwasher: Vampire Smile Review

It’s been about four years since Microsoft announced the winners of its first “Dream-Build-Play” competition, with the intention of promoting the XNA developer tools that have been the backbone of the Indie Games area of Xbox Live. If you take a look at the Xbox Live Arcade releases in mid-2007, it’s easy to see why the prospect of indie games, let alone any original game, was extremely exciting.

While two titles were awarded the grand prize of $10,000 and a spot for their game on Xbox Live Arcade, not many people remember Blazing Birds, but there was a lot of buzz, and still a lot of love, for The Dishwasher.
