We at Player Affinity had an easy choice for Recommended of the Week this time, the American classic 12 Angry Men. Based on a play 12 Angry Men is a movie that is considered great and the Criterion Collection re-release contents a variety of documentaries, interviews, commentaries and the 1955 television version. The big new release is the J.J. Abrams’ character driven sci-fi hit Super 8, a movie that divided audiences but was massive interest to film fans. From France we have the Holocaust themed historical mystery, Sarah Key’s. Wes Anderson fans will be happy with the re-release of Rushmore and two of D.W. Griffith’s silent film classics have earned a re-release.

‘Breaking Dawn Part 1’ Rises at Box Office

Though not reaching a new
high for the series, the behemoth opening weekend of Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part I still clinched the fifth biggest
opening weekend of all time, towering over all other films in play. The
opposite of gleeful was Happy Feet 2
which failed to find any kind of an audience, opening to half of what the
predecessor pranced away with in 2006.

Happy Feet Two Review

There’s little rhyme or reason to anything in the “Happy Feet” universe. If it sings, dances, looks cute and enhances ethnic diversity, it flies. Except penguins of course — penguins can’t fly, everyone knows that. But that doesn’t mean they can’t creatively problem solve through self-determination, tap-dancing and passionate arias.
