The rumor hit the Internet courtesy of Nikki Finke at Deadline Hollywood a few weeks ago following the announcement that two-time Academy Award nominee Edward Norton (Primal FearAmerican History X) would not reprise his role in “Avengers.” Finke also brings this update, which is technically unofficial since Marvel Studios hasn’t said anything yet. Comic Con Movies: Super Panel

The Comic Con Super panel shed some light on the little known film by James Gunn. A basic synopsis from IMDB: After his wife (Liv Tyler) falls under the influence of a drug dealer, an everyday guy transforms himself into the Crimson Bolt, a superhero with the best intentions, though he lacks heroic skills. The panel opened to fanboy ovation for Nathan Fillion who is best known for his work on Firefly. The film’s major cast and crew were on hand including James Gunn, Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Liv Tyler, Michael Rooker, Ted Hope and Miranda Bailey.

Comic Con Movies: Skyline Panel

It may not be the biggest name of the films at this year’s Comic-Con, but Skyline hopes to follow the success of films like District 9 and Cloverfield, aiming for a viral marketing-driven film without big name stars.

In attendance for the Comic Con panel were the directors, the Strause Brothers (Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem) and stars Eric Balfour (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre(2003), 24), Donald Faison (Scrubs) and Scottie Thompson (Trauma) with David Zayas (Dexter) offering a surprise appearance.
