Military STILL Not Letting Down on Medal of Honor

As some might have heard EA was pressured into removing the option to play as the Taliban in the multiplayer section of the game. This was done on arguments that it would be disrespectful to those who are in, and to the memories of those that have died in the war. A reasonable argument to make since it is a current even, and there are many people out there that might have some relation to someone who has been killed. However even after this the military has not backed off. Even after changing Taliban into “Opposing Force” they have not stepped down. They are continuing to boycott the game, and are still  holding on to their claim that they are doing this out of “respect to those touched by the ongoing, real-life events presented as a game.”

Want Access to the Duke Nukem Forever Demo?

Well there might be a few of you left out there that still don’t believe that Duke Nukem Forever is actually coming out. Playable demos at PAX this year proved that there was at least some form of the game floating out there somewhere.

To add more credibility to an actual release, 2K announced today that each copy of Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition will come packaged with a Duke Nukem Forever first access membership certificate. The certificate gives gamers access to exclusive items as well as entrance into the Duke Nukem Forever demo. The demo w

Pachter Predicts Price Cuts in 2011

I love Michael Pachter. He’s entertaining, funny, and exactly what this business needs. On top of all that, he’s almost always correct with his predictions, no matter how crazy they can be. Mr. Pach Man’s latest predicition is a little less bold than some of his others but still an interesting one. He says: “We estimate that a $50 console price cut across the board will impact software sales by a positive 5%, and we expect Microsoft to lead with a cut some time in Spring 2011.”

Bungie Bans 15,000 Halo: Reach Players

15,000 Halo: Reach users may have been very upset when they logged onto the popular game only to find out that their online accounts had been reset. They lost all their credits and, as a result, their rank dropping down to the lowly recruit.

Bungie made the move after discovering that these users were using a process of “intentional disconnect” that allowed them to complete challenges 20+ times. Bungie also applied a one day credit earning ban for the users to “ensure that recipients receive an in-game notification of the action taken.”

Gears of War 3 Delayed

Not too long ago good old Cliffy B (Cliff Bleszinski) appeared on the Jimmy Fallon show, and announced that Gears of War 3 would be hitting April 8th next year. However today there was some back-peddling, and a lot of it. It now seems that the game is now set for a Q4 (fall/winter) release.

Sonic Adventure Beats Out Limbo?

I feel as if my hope for humanity is slowly disintegrating. Sonic Adventure is now in the top 5 Xbox Live sales chart. Over Limbo, Monday Night Combat, Scott Pilgrim, and Peggle. I hope you’re happy everyone that bought that game. I hope you’re happy. Thankfully the great Dead Rising: Case Zero remained number one with Deathspank and Plants vs. Zombies debuting at two and three respectively (and thankfully.)

Earn 800 Easy Microsoft Points… For 2500 In Exchange

Xbox Live seems to always have a promotion going on. This month it is “The Game Feast.” That seems more apropos for November but hey, I digress (and while I digress, I continue to wonder what the hell The Game Feasts means). This month, similar to Summer of Arcade and that other promotion they had that I cannot find the name of, you will get a bonus 10 bucks (800 MS Points) for buying 30 bucks (2500 MS Points) worth of content.

Earth Defence Force: Insect Armageddon Set For Spring 2011 Release

At TGS it was announced that the next Earth Defense Force game would be coming out. Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon is set for a Spring 2011 release date. The game will feature 150 weapons, a six-player Survival Mode, and a three-player online co-op mode. Hopefully with all of that they will fix some of the problems, or at least get the frame rate issues taken care of.

For those who have played an Earth Defense force game you know why they’re awesome. It hits that sweet spot between genius game, and seriously f**king annoying. The one great thing I neglected to mention is that it’s being developed by the same people who did the seriously great underrated Matt Hazard games. Saying that this is awesome is a understatement. If anyone can pump out an interesting game it’s them. We’ll see though when we get it some time this spring.
