There’s only one epic of epic epicness at Player Affinity and that’s here at Box Office Wizard. It’s our weekly box office prediction competition. All you’re required to do is predict which five movies will place in the top five of this weekend’s U.S. domestic box office chart. Simple enough, right? I will make my own predictions here and explain them to you each week to give you some sort of reference point. It’s then your job to enter a comment with your top five.

Julia Roberts is one of Hollywood’s most famous and respected actresses. Whether she’s playing a role or producing, this talent has been lighting up the silver screen for over 20 years. She stars in Ryan Murphy’s upcoming flick Eat, Pray, Love, which is based on Elizabeth Gilbert’s best-selling memoir of the same name. That being said, we at Player Affinity thought it would be proper to honor the actress and countdown Miss Roberts’ top five screen roles.
Fresh off the casting of the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), SuperHeroHype is reporting that The Avengers is entering the final stages of pre production.
Paramount and Marvel Studios have set a start date for filming in February 2011, aiming for a May 4th, 2012 release. With Joss Whedon finally contracted to direct and co-write the film, most of the cast and crew assembled and a fantastic reception at Comic Con, The Avengers is looking to be the next step in the growing superhero genre; definitely being one of the more ambitious projects out of Hollywood in some time.

Directed by and starring action icon Sylvester Stallone, this summer release promises to be a throwback to the campy, over-the-top rumbles of the past few decades.
I’m gonna make you an offer you can’t refuse: watching Trailer Tracker, the feature where we at Player Affinity hunt down the latest trailers like gangsters hunt down a snitch in the witness protection program. You can’t stop our first trailer about a runaway train starring Denzel Washington and directed by Tony Scott. Things then become more low-brow with Jonny Knoxville and gang in Jackass 3-D, sleazier with the musical Burlesque staring Christina Aguilera, creepier with the alien invasion film Skyline and finally more wholesome with the sports comedy The Winning Season. Take the clips, leave the cannoli.
With Scott Pilgrim vs. the World being released to the world this weekend, what better way to celebrate than a top ten that combines two of our favorite media at Player Affinity: movies and comics? Seeing as “Scott Pilgrim” fits the alternative comic “label,” that’s what we’re focusing on today: then ten best alt comic/graphic novel movies.
