Joe Danger had a release date for late May to Early June and seeing that May is over we were waiting for it to be pushed back for a few more weeks.  The guys at Hello Games clarified that it is not being pushed back and is being release June 8th on the PSN. If you look at some screenshots of Joe Danger it pretty much just looks like Excite Bike on drugs.  With obstacles at every turn and a few different game modes to play with your friends.  It will end up costing you $15 not to bad considering the content if you’re into insane racing games, I know I am.  Make sure to check back here at Player Affinity for more PSN news.

PlayStation Network Premium Service Information

If the Playstation had one thing over Xbox’s online service, it was that it was free, but if you’ve been keeping up with the news you may have heard rumors about a paid subscription coming in the future.  It’s called the PlayStation Network Premium Service, which is not too catchy, but hey, A for effort.  While there isn’t a lot of information about it yet, they did mention that they will have more for the public in the near future, probably meaning E3.

Japan Sales Update

The PS3 always shows up on top in Japan, right alongside the PSP, so it was a bit of a shock when the Wii surpassed the PS3 just last week for second place. One week later found that the PS3 pushed the Wii back to its proper place on the Japanese charts.  There was no real reason for this sudden change, but apparently all of the consoles saw a slight drop in sales except for the Xbox 360.  This could be because of the fact that Bayonetta is bundled along with Forza 3 on the 360, both of which are hugely popular games in Japan.

Hideo Kojima Comes To The States

If you’re a big Metal Gear Solid fan, then the name Hideo Kojima needs no introduction.  Well, if you’ve been dying to meet the man who brought you all of your favorite video games, then you can meet him in person as he goes around to both L.A. and N.Y. with the release of the newest installment in the series.

While Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is set to release on June 8th, Kojima will be in New York on June 11 at the Uniqlo from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and later at the Best Buy in Union Square from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  No worries for anyone all the way across the country! Kojima will be on the West Coast June 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the GameStop in Universal Citywalk.  If you’re in the middle of the country I would suggest walking now, or taking a plane, whatever is easiest.

Killzone 3 revealed… it’s in 3D?

According to the next Gamepro issue, Killzone 3 is happening. Shocker, right?

So, are you ready for some 3D Killzone? Nope? Neither am I. I enjoyed the hell out of Killzone 2, but having the game in 3D is a huge turn-off. The 3D will require a 3D TV, 3D glasses, and sitting in the middle of your couch to see the 3D correctly. By the way, according to this article, “3D-enabled TVs [are] in the $3,000 to $12,000 range.” While the thought of Killzone in 3D is ridiculous yet exciting, there’s no way I will ever shell out that much money just to play one game. Of course, the option for us to play in regular 2D will probably be there.

Little Big Planet 2 Trailer Breakdown

Just last week a trailer was released for Little Big Planet 2 and it didn’t disappoint.  Although it didn’t really mention a lot of specific details it did answer some questions people would have about the sequel, and told us a few of the new things you could do.  During the trailer they mention how you will not only create levels but actual characters, called Sackbots, which you can program.  You can also chain together your levels to make your own little version of a game.  That’s something that can be really interesting to see people make two, or even a dozen, levels that tie into each other for just one big adventure.  Also, for anyone that was worried they would have to recreate their old favorites for this new game, don’t worry.  They mention that all of them will be moving over and “looking better than ever” which means they probably will update the graphics for them too.  All the while showing all of the cool things you can do, and make, such as racing, playing a ship in a space invader style game, a cool dance floor and the list keeps going.

Little Big Planet 2 Details Coming

Little Big Planet is one of those games that stole the hearts of millions of people who have a PS3.  I remember the first time I saw this game and thinking how much charm it has, and if they can nail down the customization it could be a big hit.  When it came out, people started creating insane amounts of levels with an interface that was quick and easy to use.  Loading up new levels and seeing what each person created is what made Little Big Planet just a blast to play and what made it stand out from everyone else.

LittleBigPlanet 2 First Trailer

Hey! It’s a LittleBigPlanet 2 trailer! And! It’s looking very, very good. Exclamation points! I had hard time wondering just what Media Molecule could do to expand the toolset. After watching the trailer, I know why I don’t make games. These addition seem really obvious, but only after they’re shown.
