Alan Wake’s Second DLC called “The Writer”?

With Alan Wake’s first piece of DLC, “The Signal”, arriving on July 27, it seems Remedy have jumped the gun with the second episode.

A quick peek into the game’s special features reveals a listing for “The Signal” as well as a second episode called “The Writer”. The description reveals Wake is “in strange circumstances; now fully aware of the thing that opposes him, he must survive one increasingly nightmarish situation after another.”

Xbox Deals of the Week- 5/24-5/30

With a new week comes a new Deal of the Week on Xbox Live. This week, it’s more of a “Deal’s of the Week” thing, as not one, not two, but three games have had their prices slashed (for one week only of course). That is it! I am considering picking up Lazy Raiders as I’ve heard some nice things about it but for the rest of them, I have no advice. Madballs sounds terrible from just the name and Band of Bugs doesn’t look horrible. If that Avatar Wave Snowball Fight thing is similar to the free snowball game that was released on Xbox Live for a limited time a while ago, it’s not even worth navigating through the clunky Indie game menu to find.

Also, there are some avatar props (Props for your avatar… Not props from the game/movie Avatar) that have received price slashes but why would you want them?

Gears of War 3 Leaked Images

Those of you itching for some more Gears of War 3 teasers, fear not! Epic has heard your cries and leaked out some images.  Some of the pictures are of random scenery or combat, as well as a look at the cast of characters, including one that hasn’t been seen in either past games or the trailer that was shown not too long ago.  The graphics look top notch in these screenshots and I can’t wait to see the game in action.  Make sure to check back for more news and hopefully some real information.

E3 is just a month away, and most of us (and probably you) can’t wait! In only a month everything we know will be reset, and the industry we all love so mush will be at its yearly peak. There will be news, there will be announcements, and there will be things we will see that will change the face of what we know about gaming. Yes, E3 is a magical time. Hopefully this year we can get good looks at some of the great games, and hardware coming out in the coming months.

Alan Wake Preview

It was one of the most talked about titles from E3 2009 and after several delays, psychological thriller fans will finally see their dreams turn into living nightmares on May 18, 2010, with the long anticipated release of Alan Wake for the Xbox 360.

For those of you caught unaware, Alan Wake sees the title character, a horror writer, and his wife taking a vacation in a tranquil Pacific Northwestern city trying to help Alan overcome his writer’s block. Once in the town though, Alan starts having nightmares and wakes up one night to find his wife is missing and a story he can’t remember writing has come to life. As Alan scrounges about the wilderness collecting pages from his otherworldly novel, trying to find his wife and unravel the mystery of where the book came from, he must combat members of the community who have been consumed by a poltergeist-like darkness.

Blur (X360) Preview

The developers of Blur, Bizarre Creations, are responsible for one of my most favorite racing games out there (granted I do not play racing games that much), Project Gotham Racing 4. Blur is a step back from the serious Sim-style racing of the PGR series and it delves a bit into the arcade style racing game. Similar to most Kart Racing games, you pick up power ups throughout the race, using them to either protect yourself or cause your opponents some serious trouble.

The first thing that you notice is Blur’s very stylish neon graphics. Everything has beautiful colors reflecting or running off of it and this adds to the beauty of the tracks. Unlike most betas, Blur offers quite a bit in its, giving us 12 cars, 4 game types, and 4 tracks. From the tracks given, they seemed very varied and out of control in a good way.

Recently Bungie announced their new edition for Halo Reach. This being the super expensive Legendary edition. The collection will include the game (of corse), a 10 inch statue with the main characters, multiplayer armor, a journal containing info/documents of the history of the Halo universe, and a flaming helmet code for multiplayer. Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 – A Bit More Rearmed

As most people know, the only real good Bionic Commando game to be released in the past few years is Bionic Commando Rearmed. Since the developer, GRIN,went under, we figured we’d never see a sequel to the great PSN/XBLA game. Luckily, Fatshark AB (developers of the new Wild West shooter, Lead & Gold) has proven us wrong.

The most exciting addition so far to Rearmed 2 is the ability to finally jump. While it may sound like a minuscule addition, it’s sure to change the way you play the game.

Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 is scheduled for release in 2011.

Gears of War 3: Ashes to Ashes

There are some games that people can’t wait for a sequel to, and Gears of War is without a doubt one of them.  They have created a series that has created a large fan base very quickly, and it only continues to grow.  Everyone already knew a third installation was going to be made; we all just had to wait quietly for some actual details about the game.  While we haven’t gotten any real details from the developers they have released a trailer, Ashes to Ashes, and for a short one minute trailer it shows a good amount about the game.

Splinter Cell Conviction CE’s Price Lowered

When Ubisoft was performing “random sampling” on the Splinter Cell Conviction Collector’s Edition, they found a percentage of the USB drives packaged in the CE were defective. This resulted in Ubisoft lowering the $80 price tag down to $70. Ubisoft refuses to comment on what percentage of the USB drives will be defective, but the good news is that on April 15th, instructions will be released telling you how to receive the bonus content should you have a defective drive. Ubisoft also refuses to say what is specifically wrong with the drives, only that “We do not have that information at this time.”
